Video Game Reviews of Silent HillCustomer Review: Awesome Game Summary: 5 StarsThis is probably one of my favorite games. The fact that it became a huge blockbuster movie comes as no surprise to me. Great storyline, intriguing characters and scenarios and not to mention the realilstic touches to what could actually happen in real life depicted via Sony's interpretation. I would recommend this game to anybody that likes problem solving and puzzles. There are several points in the game where you have to solve puzzles or some kind of equation to get ahead. You would play the daughter's father who is looking for his daughter in Silent Hill as they had crashed and she had disappeared. Definently recommend this game, hope you like it as much as I did and still do.
Customer Review: In the modern world of HD, Xbox 360, Playstation 3. This game is still scary. Summary: 5 StarsSilent Hill. Is. Still. Scary. When I first played this game I didn't really care for it. I didn't really care for Silent Hill until I played the fourth one. Now I love it! I have all the Silent Hill games and this one is still great. In the world of HD crap, if a playstation one game can still scare you with its inferior graphics its still realy good. Mabye that is why its so expensive. Buy it. Period.
Customer Review: Silent Hill Summary: 5 StarsI Learned from this on I went by the picture and didn't read the discription that this was the disk only but that is my fault.
Works great, Got here on time and in very good condition.
Customer Review: Major step forward for games as an art form Summary: 5 Stars The story in this game (and all Silent Hill games for that matter) is phenomenal. Games like this are the ones that will help video gaming evolve as an artistic medium like books and film, rather than being seen as toys.
Here's a brief description for anyone reading this that doesn't know about Silent Hill (all 2 of you...); you play as a normal guy (not a military commando) that is driving along one minute and then, after nearly crashing, finds himself in Silent Hill where strange and hostile creatures roam the otherwise deserted town. And if that wasn't enough, his daughter is missing.
As the game progresses you will occasionally hear an alarm siren and the town will turn dark and shift from Silent Hill to Otherworld, where there are more monsters and the atmosphere is even more frightening and depressing.
There are multiple endings to keep you playing, and as mentioned the story is spot on so despite slightly frustrating combat and camera issues I recommend playing this game because there is nothing quite like the experience of a Silent Hill story.
Customer Review: Still, the Best horror game *no spoilers* Summary: 5 StarsThis is a game for the PS1 system. It's got underwhelming graphics considering todays standards, but its incredibly immersive, as good as the best horror movies or books, everything about the game oozes atmosphere and style.
The game play, especially the movement is a little clunky though the emphasis is not on fast paced action so that is never and issue. The objective of the game is to go through a "haunted" town looking for a missing little girl while slowly discovering the back story of the town of silent hill. The puzzles are interesting and logical, never too difficult or too weird, though the game will seem a little little railroaded and constrained (since some sections of the town are off limits at the beginning you will be following a set course throughout the game) this is due to the nature of the eerie and slowly unfolding story. overall a great experience, better than a horror movie anyhow!
Silent Hill 2 will later top this story wise and become the best game in the series, though this magic first experience will remain the most intense!
